About the Artist
Anjana received her Diploma in Painting from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, 1965 and completed a Post Graduate degree in Printmaking from M.S. University, Baroda in 1972. She draws inspiration from the experiences of living in a joint family, the oppression and the density of the city and its society. These observations become part of her creative thought process resulting in human figures appearing on the canvas and telling their story. The artist presently lives and works in Mumbai.
