BAPTIST COELHO

Baptist studied Photography and received a Diploma in Fine Art at L.S Raheja School of Art and an M.A. from the Birmingham Institute of Art & Design (BIAD), UK. His solo exhibitions include Grand Palais, Bern (2009), Visual Arts Gallery, Delhi (2009) and Project 88, Mumbai (2009).His work has been exhibited at galleries and institutions such as Karlin Studios, Prage (2014), Ladakh Arts and Media Organisation, Leh (2013), Saint Denis, France (2013), CASS Sculpture Foundation, UK (2012), Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing (2012), Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw (2011), National Museum of 21st Century Arts, Rome (2011), Essl Museum, Austria (2010) and Gwanju Museum of Art, South Korea (2010), amongst others.

Coelho was awarded the Façade Video Award (2011) by Art Today Association, Bulgaria and the Promising Artist Award (2007) by Art India and India Habitat Centre, New Delhi (2007). He has participated in residencies at The Delfina Foundation, London (2012), 1 Shanthi Road, Bengaluru (2010) and at PROGR, Bern (2009). He was also shortlisted for Commonwealth Connectionals International Art Residencies by Commonwealth Foundation, London in 2010.
