About the Artist
Chinmoyi attained her M.F.A. from Goldsmiths, London (2009) and her B.F.A. (Painting) from Fine Arts, M.S. University (2006). She did a solo project Green Papaya, Manila (2011). Other group exhibitions/screenings include Soul Bay, Surat (2017), a show curated by Premjish Achari, Krishnakriti Art Festival, Hyderabad (2017), Nazar Art Gallery, Baroda (2016), Chatterjee & Lal, Mumbai (2015), Helper Projects, Brooklyn (2015), a show curated by Charlie Levine and Vishwa Shroff (2015),Galleria M, Kolkata (2015), Rencontres Internationales, Berlin/Paris (2014 & 2010), Christchurch, NZ/Bushwick, NY/ The Hospital Club, London (2014), Lagos 2013/Belgrade Art Fair, Serbia (2012), Valencia, Spain (2012), FICA Reading Room, New Delhi/1 Shathi Road, Bangalore (2011). She was awarded the Madanjeet Singh Scholarship by South Asia Foundation, New Delhi for a one-year residency at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore (2006-2007). She has also participated in residencies at Ondarte, Mexico (2012), Changdong Art Studio, Seoul (2011). She was a finalist for the Celeste Art Prize (2011). She co-organized the Paradise Lodge International Artists Residency Lonavala/Mumbai (2013). Chinmoyi curated Watermelon, Fish and Half Ghost, a selection of films by contemporary Indian Artists for the Borough of Camden, London (2017). She currently teaches part-time at Fine Arts, South Gujarat University, Surat.
