About the Artist
Genevieve Robertson is a visual artist living in Vancouver, Canada. Her drawing-based interdisciplinary practice explores the material around the body and under the feet: water, oil, wind, silt, flora, fauna and mineral. Genevieve holds an MFA from Emily Carr University (2016) and a BFA from NSCAD University (2009). She was recently artist in residence at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Cetus Research and Conservation Society, and the Vancouver Fieldhouse Program. Recent exhibitions include The New Gallery (Calgary); Touchstones Museum (Nelson); The Simon Fraser University Gallery (Burnaby); The Or Gallery (Vancouver); The Libby Leshgold Gallery (Vancouver); and Gallery 555 (Toronto). She is presently the recipient of a British Columbia Arts Council mentorship grant framed by the shoreline as a site for encounter and inquiry, and was awarded the Banff Centre Hotchkiss Foundation Artists’ Award (2017)
