OBAYYA

Obayya attained his BFA in Painting from Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts, University of Mysore, Mysore (2009) and MFA in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (2014).  He has participated in group shows at Art Next Delhi, Hyderabad (2011), the Nandalal Bose Gallery ICCR, Kolkata (2012), 122^nd All India Annual Art Exhibition, Organized by ‘The Bombay Art Society’ at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2014), 80^th All India Exhibition of Arts, Amritsar (2014), an exhibition held by Kanoria Art Center at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2015), 48^th Annual Exhibition Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata ( 2015), Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai (2015), Summer Exhibition held by Kanoria Centre of Arts, Ahmadabad (2015), CIMA Awards by CIMA Gallery, Kolkata (2015), 49^th Annual Exhibition Birla Academy of Art and Culture Kolkata (2016), Gallery 7, Mumbai (2016), Edelweiss Palette’16 Art Walk, Mumbai (2016). He has been awarded the Jury Award for the South Indian Art Show (2015) and Best Painting Award at the 122^nd All India Annual Art Exhibition by the Bombay Art Society (2014). He has remained an artist-in-residence at Kanoria Center for Arts, Ahmadabad (2014-15) and (2015 – 16) and Hasta Gallery Projects, Mangaluru (2011). He received a grant from Arnawaz Vasudev Charities, Cholamandal Artist Village, Tamil Nadu (2011).
