About the Artist

Rumi is an artist and sculptor who attained her Diploma in Applied Art from Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai (1999). She also completed her PG in Modern and Contemporary Indian Art and Curatorial Studies from the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai (2017). Rumi had her solo ‘Sediment’ – an exhibition of drawings and sculptures at the Hirji Jehangir Gallery, Mumbai (2017) while her debut solo exhibit was at the Museum Art Gallery, Mumbai (2011), and has participated with the Palette, Charity Auction for Edelgive Foundation (2013), the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2012). She exhibited at Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai for the BMW Guggenheim Lab, New York (2012). She was also a participant with the KIPAF, Kolkata, India, (2017), Pune Biennale, (2017) and Florence Biennale, Italy (2017). She has designed Murals for The Sports Bar, Noida, Gurgaon and Bangalore (2009). Her ‘Sediment’ sculptures were commissioned for the World Trade Centre, Pune (2017).
