“Well, I have been here for more than a year now, and I feel that I have evolved with the Space as an artist. The rawness of the space has leant itself to my work which I think is great. I could not have asked for a better space to collect my thoughts and develop my work. There is a sense of openness I get when I come here, it calms me and in a city like Bombay that is really hard to find. Everyone on the staff has been so helpful, it’s truly been wonderful. Definitely look forward to being back here at some point. Thank you for everything.”

About the Artist
Sareena studied at The International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Umbria, Santiniketan, and received her B.F.A from The School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at Pragati Maidan in Delhi (2013), the Art Konsult in Delhi (2012), and the SAARC Art Show in Thimpu (2010). Originally from Kolkata and currently based in Mumbai, Khemka’s work represents the contemporary society but in a tongue-in-cheek manner, by drawing comparisons of the current capitalist kingdom with monarchic kingdoms of the medieval ages. Her paintings are a mockery on several advertisements that were released in Mumbai, eliciting hope of providing experiences of a world-class city.
