In Manita’s work ‘Abundance’, she chose the spray of the lightest hue of the colour spectrum which is the shade of yellow as it is illuminating and uplifting, offering hope, happiness and cheerfulness. An enlightment towards her creativity, giving her courage and happiness.
This colour is associated with the sun and its life giving warmth which is symbolic of ABUNDANT bounds of friendship and optimism.
Flowers have been one of her main inspirations. She challenged herself to paint in hues of yellow and orange to depict the abundance and significance of light.
Manita Singh is an accomplished freelance watercolourist from New Delhi, now based out of Mumbai. She has remained a PRT Art Educationist at the Sanskriti School, New Delhi (2001-2003 & 2010 – 2016); Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Ambala Cantt (2005 – 2007) and St. Mary’s School, Pune (2007 – 2010). She is a Gold Medalist, with a BFA from College of Art Chandigarh, Punjab University. She has exhibited various installations for the All India Women’s Conference, Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi (2016); International Film Festival (2015) and the Sanskriti School in New Delhi (2012). She has a vast experience in teaching art to students of various levels including children with learning disabilities.
