Artwork Description
The Cerebral Buddha Series is inspired by the nine Buddhist Stupa structures located across the world, which contain the holy relics of Buddhist monks. The drawings attempt to convey the cerebral aspect of the Buddha.
About Artist
Parag received his Art Teacher Diploma from the Thane School of Art, his Diploma in Sculpture and Modelling from J.J. School of Art in Mumbai and his Post Diploma in Creative Sculpture from M.S. University in Baroda. He has held solo shows at Pundole Art Gallery, Mumbai (2008/2010). His group shows include Upvan Art Festival, Thane (2013), Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai (2012), The Guild, Mumbai (2011), Kitab Mahal, Mumbai (2011), Threshold Art Gallery, New Delhi (2009) and Nehru Centre, Mumbai (2006). He has attended the Sandarbh Residency program in Patarpur, Rajasthan (2011) and has been the recipient of the All India Art and Craft Society Mumbai Award, Maharashtra State Art Award and the Jhunjhunwala Scholarship Award, all in 2003.
