Artwork Description
Harshida’s artworks beautifully portray a breakdown of communication: the unexpressed, surpressed frustration and anger that is felt deeply within – in a biological sense. Yet her works have an undercurrent of calmness and serenity, which generate a surreal impression in many of her paintings. In ‘Fragrance’, she uses the inspiration of the plumeria (champa) flowers which grow near her house. She focuses on the beauty of this external element – and the potential of its delicate and subtle sense of smell to create an aura of calmness.
