Artwork Description

The painting “Horses of Hunger” was inspired by a boy of about 8 years of age who was sitting outside Indigo Cafe in Colaba. The boy was sitting cross- legged and facing the restaurant, selling small purple plastic horses while those inside the Café enjoyed their sumptuous meals.

About Artist

Cristina obtained a B.A. in Religious Studies from Brown University, Rhode Island. She has also attended the New York University Nursing School from 2002-2004. Cristina has exhibited at Raghurajpur RIA/CE Festival, Raghurajpur, Odisha (2013), Table 12, New York (2013), Michael Mut Gallery, New York (2010), NYSS Gallery, New York (2010), Woburn UCL Show, London (2010) and at Patton and Boggs, New York (2009). Cristina was awarded a merit scholarship to attend the Slade School of Fine Art in London for a semester in 2010 and was also awarded a grant to attend the Royal Academy of Arts in London for a summer artist exchange in 2009.
