Katyani mainly works with ink on paper but has recently expanded her style and up scaled the size of her work. She enjoys merging recognisable Indian motifs with body modifications and adornments. This painting, “Melt” tries to capture the little intimacies in the gestures of the figures in it. The gold of the sun and the sunflowers adds warmth to the scene contrasting with the smoke that adds to the illusion of heat and the act of melting.
