Manita Singh is an accomplished freelance watercolourist from New Delhi, now based out of Mumbai. She has remained a PRT Art Educationist at the Sanskriti School, New Delhi (2001-2003 & 2010 – 2016); Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Ambala Cantt (2005 – 2007) and St. Mary’s School, Pune (2007 – 2010). She is a Gold Medalist, with a BFA from College of Art Chandigarh, Punjab University. She has exhibited various installations for the All India Women’s Conference, Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi (2016); International Film Festival (2015) and the Sanskriti School in New Delhi (2012). She has a vast experience in teaching art to students of various levels including children with learning disabilities. Manita’s works are a rendition of the nature she sees through her eyes. She is constantly picturing flora, which she turns into a painting with the help of watercolors. Her love for watercolors has been constant for years.
Manita Singh picked up the brush at a very young age and has been experimenting with many mediums. She has worked with oils, acrylics and her favorite being watercolours. It’s here that she expresses herself and the many hues she works with shows in her work which reflects her honesty and vitality. Flora and fauna has always calmed her and inspired her. She remains an avid gardener be it her garden or green plants that adorn her home. Botanicals, especially the detailed work that she does is what she continues to enjoy and perfect! Her work is very versatile. Architecture, Old Doors and Portraits are the other genres that she excels in. Manita Singh lives with her husband in Mumbai.
