“The Honey Cleaner” conveys the difficulty of adjusting from a calm and peaceful village setting to the city life of New Delhi, and the struggle finding one’s place of belonging in the urban setting.
Mayadhara holds a B.V.A. in Sculpture from B.K College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneswar. His solo shows include the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2014), Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata (2014) and Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Bhubaneshwar (2013). He has also exhibited in a group show at India Habitat Centre (2013). He has been the recipient of the Lalit Kala Akademi Research Grant Scholarship (2012), the National Scholarship from Ministry of Culture, New Delhi (2011) and Alice Bunder Memorial Award (2010).
