The forms emerge as a visual manifestation of the incessant calling/yearning of the inside from the ‘universal’. A seamless constellation demonstrated by the knitted clouds exhibit a flawed humanity searching for the ethereal. And as enlightenment is procured, like the churning of the ocean – out springs the form like the flower and the elephant, signifying strength and maturity, as it spreads its aura to the surroundings.
Rahul completed his MFA (2010) & BFA (2007) from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. A gold medal recipient at the University, he has won a number of awards and scholarships including the HRD Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, India (2012-13). He has taken part in a number of shows, both in India and abroad, some of which include: ASYAAY at LVS Gallery, Seoul, South Korea (2015 & 2016), Formations One, Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda (2016 & 2013) and Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (2012), M.F. Husain Art Gallery, New Delhi (2009 & 2010). He also participated in a group show and auction at Lalit Kala Akademi and Marriot Resort, Goa (2014). He has also been a part of a number of artists residencies including the Piramal Art Residency in Mumbai (2017) and at NIV Art Centre, New Delhi (2011). He presently lives and works in Baroda.
