We are conducting a Drawing in Charcoal, Ink and Pencil Workshop by Rajendra Patil on 3rd and 4th September, 2016 from 11 am to 5 pm (Both Days) at Space 118, 118, Wadi Bunder Road, Opp. Copper Castle bldg., Near St. Mary’s School, Mazagaon, Mumbai-400010. ABOUT RAJENDRA PATIL
Rajendra Patil is a Mumbai based Artist and has been the Professor of Drawing for the past 25 years at the prestigious J.J School Of Art, Mumbai. He attained his B.A from Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai University in 1989; G.D Arts in Drawing and Painting from L.S Raheja College School of Art; P.D in Art Education and a Masters in Art from J.J School of Art, Mumbai. He has had several solo shows the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (1995 – 2013). He has exhibited in numerous group shows at the Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi; Artist Center, Mumbai; Guild Gallery, Mumbai; Habitat Art Center, New Delhi; World Art Expo, New York and hosted for Drawing Box Mail Art Expo amongst many others. He has been awarded His Excellency the Governor of Maharashtra Prize and Medal by the Bombay Art Society.
Rajendra Patil’s drawings are solely charged with energy and possess a linearity which is transparent and which one can easily read and interpret. Rajendra is well versed in English, Hindi and Marathi (if need be).
WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT
On the first day of the workshop there will be a audio video showing works of Mr Patil, and explaining the techniques of drawing, in the first half of the day along with a basic drawing class in pencil, thereafter. Participants will be given a chance to practice in the second half of the day.
One the second day, realistic drawing to creative abstract expression will be taught. The approach will be based on freehand, expression and observational drawing rather than technical drawing. The participant will be taught to draw with different mediums like Charcoal, Ink and Pencil.

Open to all from the age 16 years and above.
