We are conducting an ‘Embroidered Graphic Novel Workshop’ by Susie Vickery on Saturday 13th December, 2014 from 11am to 6pm at Space118, 118, Wadi Bunder Road, Mazagaon, Near Wallace Flour Mill, St. Mary’s School or Fazlani School, Mumbai-400010. ABOUT SUSIE VICKERY:
Susie Vickery worked for many years as a theatrical costumier. For the last 10 years she has worked with women’s handicraft groups in Nepal, Tibet, China, India, Burma and Gaza, providing design and production training. She was the mentor artist for an art project in Dharavi, where she continues to run a sewing group developing products from recycled materials. Susie teaches 19th Century tailoring as a guest lecturer at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne. Her work in these areas is the inspiration for her embroidered art and animation and her embroidered icons are currently on display at the National Museum of Art, Norway. www.susievickery.com

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT:
Come along with a short story or event, some photos and any favourite bits and pieces, and make a page of a graphic story using fabric and embroidery.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET:
An idea for a story or event
• Scissors
• Pencils
• Photos for the story

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED:
• Fabric
• Threads and Needles
• Glue
• Paper

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Participants need to be 16 years of age and over. There is no prerequisite knowledge required for this workshop.

The fees for this workshop is available on request.

Tea and light refreshments will be served.
