ETHNIC EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP by MUGDHA DONGARE

ABOUT MUGDHA DONGARE:
Mugdha Dongare has been teaching the art of Ethnic Embroidery designs for 14 years. She has conducted workshops at the C.S.M. Museum, Mumbai University, and with the Kala Ghoda Association. Mugdha holds regular workshops for students and professionals and also volunteers teaching embroidery to underprivileged girls and women at the ‘Mission Swayam Siddha’ and ‘Uddan’ NGOs in Powai.
WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT:
In this workshop, participants will learn how to embroider traditional Bengali Kantha with Tribal Art and Shisha (mirror) work fusion designs onto their very own Batwa pouch, pillow cover or handkerchief.
WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED:
Fabric, Embroidery Threads, Needle, Mirrors of various sizes, Kantha Designs templates, Tribal Art design templates, Tracing Paper, Carbon Paper, pillow covers, pouches, and handkerchiefs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET:
Small Scissors
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Open to participants ages 12 and above. There is no prerequisite knowledge needed for this workshop.
The fees for this workshop is available on request.
Tea and light refreshments will be served.
