ABOUT VIDYANATH JHA & KRISHNAPRASAD JHA

Born in 1947, Vidyanath Jha is one of the most famous of Madhubani painters. He learnt his art from his elder sister Bachcho Devi and practices Godhna and Tantrik styles of painting. His son Krishna Prasad Jha is a state awardee in Kalanand Art Contest of Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation in 2016. They hail from Madhubani district.

Both, father and son have conducted many workshops before, including last year in Pune. They have done 10 workshops so far and have also done a commissioned wall painting in an International school in Pune.

 

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT

The workshop aims to introduce Madhubani to art lovers. It will provide a hands-on understanding of all aspects of Madhubani art, such as its history, motifs, themes, designs and colors. Participants will be guided to make their own paintings & take them home.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Open to ages 10 and above. No prior experience is required.
