ABOUT KAUSHAL KUMAR: Kaushal Kumar is a traditional Folk Artist and Social Worker from Bihar. He was taught the Madhubani Papier Mache craft by his family who have been practicing this craft for several generations. With over 30 years of experience in Papier Mache, Kaushal along with his wife, Kamini, regularly exhibit his works and conducts workshops in Mumbai, Lucknow, Surat, Delhi, and many other cities across India.

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT: The workshop will begin with an introduction to Papier Mache and learn how to prepare the pulp. Notes with instructions in English on how to prepare the pulp will be handed out. Using a ready-made paper pulp, participants will next learn how to create any one object of their choice. The objects will be left to dry for 2-3 days and will collected from the studio. Participants can also paint readymade Papier Mache sculptures which they can take home at an additional cost. The medium of instruction will be in Hindi, as the topic is a traditional craft conducted by a folk artist.

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED: Readymade paper pulp, paints, brushes, and plywood boards

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Open to all ages 10 and above.
