ABOUT JEROO MULLA:
Jeroo Mulla has been teaching Film Appreciation, Photography, Fundamental Concepts of Communications, and supervising student documentaries at the Sophia Polytechnic for over thirty years. She was the Head of the Sophia Institute of Social Communications Media, Mumbai from 2012 – 2013 and the Head of the Social Communications Media Department, Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai from 1986 – 2012. Currently she continues to teach film and photography as a visiting faculty at Sophia Polytechnic. She also lectures at various other institutes such as Xavier’s Institute of Communications and Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communications. She is also a media consultant, and on the advisory boards of the Xavier’s BMM course and the Haridev University of Communications in Jaipur. Most recently, she has been awarded the Prof. Satish Bahadur Lifetime Achievement Award to a Film Teacher from South Asia.

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT:
This two day workshop will be both hands on and theoretical, taking you through the history of photography to the basics of photography.

Day 1 will start off with and introduction to the Early Masters of Photography and to ‘ways of seeing’. This will be followed by an introduction to the basics of shooting. Terms such as framing, composition, aperture, ISO, and shutter speed will be introduced and explored to give you a better understanding of the different stages of taking a photograph. Participants will then get an opportunity to take photographs for the critique which will be held on the second day.

Day 2 will start with a casual critique of participants’ work. This will be followed by a lecture and discussion on photojournalists and contemporary photographers who have used colour in a special way.

• DSLR Camera
• Laptop
• Pen drive
• Some pictures you have shot on a pen drive or CD

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
No Age limit/ No Qualifications / No prerequisites
