Her workshops cater to both kids and adults, covering a diverse range of categories from kid’s crafts to large wall murals.

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT: Stone Carving is the oldest known work of representational art. In modern times, this technique is done on light weight cement blocks manufactured by Siporex and Magicrete. As the material is light, porous and easy to carve, simple household tools like knife cutters and wood carving tools are used for carving these blocks. Murals designed, can be used for interiors and exteriors. The siporex murals are made on a plywood base and painted in acrylics or oil paints and then lacquered.

Day 1: On Saturday 28th May – Participants will be taught how to sculpt the stone. The student will select the design and sketch it on stone with pencil. Next, they will be taught how to mark certain levels for sculpting. They will then chisel the stone on the drawn design to give it the desired shape. Once the design is ready, students will file the edges of stone with sand paper. The murals will be kept to dry overnight.

Day 2: On Sunday 29th May – Participants will colour the mural with oil paints using the rubbing technique. Finally, the murals will be varnished and then set aside to dry. You will be taking the murals on the plywood base back home.
