WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT
Geeta is an avid trekker and it is the forests and foliage in Arunachal Pradesh which have inspired her to create art. Geeta takes the curved lines for a walk from the leaves of trees in nature. The curved lines walk into different shapes and patterns, turning them into beautiful birds. The design is simple consisting of free flowing lines with parallel lines, curved lines, small triangles and squares. The ink lines walk naturally like the leaves in nature. After a slide show presentation to show how nature inspires her work, the workshop will be conducted in three stages. First, the participants will draw different shapes and curves, enhancing them with lines. Second, we take the line for a walk and turn the leaves in the form a stylized bird. Finally, having learnt to walk the line, we merge the lines to go up and down with thick and thin lines to shape them into an abstract form. Geeta will provide plenty of illustrations to copy from and will give each participant a booklet containing ten of her complete works so that you can keep walking the line and create your own art at home.
