WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP BY MANITA SINGH

ABOUT MANITA SINGH

Manita Singh is an accomplished freelance watercolourist from New Delhi, now based out of Mumbai. She has remained a PRT Art Educationist at the Sanskriti School, New Delhi (2001-2003 & 2010 – 2016); Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Ambala Cantt (2005 – 2007) and St. Mary’s School, Pune (2007 – 2010). She is a Gold Medalist, with a BFA from College of Art Chandigarh, Punjab University. She has exhibited various installations for the All India Women’s Conference, Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi (2016); International Film Festival (2015) and the Sanskriti School in New Delhi (2012). She has a vast experience in teaching art to students of various levels including children with learning disabilities.

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT

On the first day of the workshop (27th August), the instructor would be having a talk in the first half on the materials and techniques used during watercolour. Easy to follow step-by-step projects designed to train your eye and develop your skills showing what to do, and demonstrate key techniques used to create light, mood, perspective and balance. Clear explanations of the principles of watercolor will be taught.

On the second day of the workshop (28th August), the participants will be provided the materials to draw or select from readymade drawings. They will be provided raw images to help them draw and paint better.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PAY

The fees for this workshopis available on request.

WHAT YOU WILL GET

–       Artists water-colour tubes (camel preferable)

–      Round Brushes for water-color painting (at least 3 varying sizes -Size 3, 6 and 10) and a 1 inch Flat Brush

–       A3 size watercolour paper of 300gsm

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

 Drawing board (if you have any, otherwise you can do it on our tables or on the floor, whatever you find comfortable)

– 1 Eraser

– A palette for mixing colors (if you don’t have one, you can use a white ceramic/glass plate)

– A container for water

– A rag /piece of cloth for wiping
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Open to all from the age 15 years and above.

Tea and light refreshments will be served.
