Jignesh’s works are built up through layers of paper and sometimes overlapped with various drawing mediums. He tries to represent a layering and compression of time and space in relation to cultural association and the act of moving and adopting from many contrasting conditions. It also represents the emergence of a new perspective from his previous art practice, that used juxtaposed abstracted images of urban settings. He uses linear dimensions and the multiple approaches of witnessing a space/object; making an image of an image. In this way, his works are distortions, testimonials, and manipulations in the same frame.
Jignesh lives and works between Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India and Berlin, Germany.
