Jyotiprakash’s body of work represents an honest attempt to express his ideas on the culture of urbanisation and the bustle of monotonous routine. His works flesh out the idea of a sense of alienation in mundane human lives, drawing on the isolation in the midst of crowds. He attempts to demonstrate his disengagement and comprehension on living his life in solitude, in present day. In the modern world, we seem to be resistant to such powerful imagery, more apparent in earlier cultures. A stark contrast to the present, earlier, people appear to have viewed the passage of time with a bit more ambivalence, situationally, and as part of a greater cosmic interplay.
Jyotiprakash lives and works in New Delhi, India.
