Madhav Vyas (b.1998, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India) completed his BFA in Painting and MFA in Graphics at Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, 2021. His works have been exhibited in group shows at APRE Art House, Mumbai, 2023; Ark Foundation for the Arts, Vadodara, 2023; Stainless Gallery, Delhi, 2022; Hutheesing Visual Art Centre, Ahmedabad, 2021, Fine Arts Gallery, Vadodara, 2018 and SARA Centre, Karnataka, 2017.

He has been an artist-in-residence at the NEXT-STEP Residency program, 1Shanthiroad, Bangalore, 2023.

Madhav’s works focus on recreating memories of familial individuals engaged in everyday activities and landscapes around his hometown, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Recreating family memories in his works, each painting maintains awareness of individual entities, intertwining personal and societal identities. He explores various disciplines and mediums, primarily using gouache, woodcut printing, and etching, occasionally shifting to charcoal and video making for inspiration and practice.

Madhav Vyas lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat, India.
