Mithun’s works are stringed together by his quest to negotiate the expressions of violence and animosity by using skin as a material. He uses animal skins discarded from the bodies in tanneries. Small pieces of discarded skin are tied up in different forms to reflect his expressions; different arrangements of these pieces of leather take forms of lands as seen on a map. These new forms pose as an allegory for the cartography of violence.

Mithun Das lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat, India.
