Ozi Mayankkumar is an artist from Vadgam, a village in the Banaskantha District of Gujarat. He completed his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting from M.A. Parikh Fine Arts College in 2019 and is completing his Masters of Visual Arts in Graphics from M.S. University of Baroda in 2021.

 

 

Ozi’s works show his personal relationship with life’s pressures, moments of helplessness and suffering. Experiences during his childhood have caused psychological trauma, which he uses as a subject in his work. He is interested in the changes caused in his works due to effects of temperature and humidity, such as in the case of his home, where the walls are damp. His prints are all done in black and white as he takes inspiration from Japanese manga (graphic novels or comics). He gives importance to the composition and tries to achieve a rhythm in his artworks.
