Tanzeem’s artistic practice deals with the observation of her immediate surroundings. Her earlier works depicted human figurations, but her recent works have made a shift towards various organic forms of plants and marine creatures. She tries to relate those forms with mundane human life, and she is also interested in exploring activities that people do not take into account. Her artwork gives the viewer ample space to feel it and to recreate their own memories. She experiments with different materials like foam, fabric, paper, and organic materials to create her soft sculptures. Colour is an important component of her works, which not only establishes a mood but is the first thing that people respond to in their overall judgment and many associations can be made directly through the colors. Thus, the use of different materials and colors play the core element in Tanzeem’s artistic practice, to portray the idea of the subjective and objective matter.
