Vijay lives and works in Visakhapatnam.
After working on different concepts relating to the lives and struggles of fishermen, Vijay gradually started working on “juxtaposition” wherein he dealt with adding an object with another object without compromising the visual impact. His work is inspired by nature- The forms as well as concepts. He tends to associate himself with nature and animals. Many of his works are depictions of himself or his personal experiences- Depictions of fragile situations through fragile forms. He focuses on strong visuals to surprise viewers into thought. Sometimes his works may also be philosophical. He explores in his works and he is learning nuances and various approaches that he can pursue further. His works may be serious, personal, and sometimes humorous but they all are connected to his interest in the juxtaposition of contrasting imagery. He gets tired of seeing the things around him and the way they are, so much so that he starts manipulating reality in his works. He brings together mundane recognizable objects that can never coexist in reality and juxtapose them in the same narrative that contradicts one another.
With this whole practice, he is trying to escape from the boring and mundane world with his creative approach. As a sculptor, he would like to focus on how we can give life to forms by creating as well as replacing: And also, to understand how we can substitute objects, things, and people into art and explore the significance of unconscious imagination.
