Yatri Oza is an artist from Rajkot, Gujarat and she completed her Bachelor of Fine Art in painting from the Surat School of Fine Arts, VNSGU (2019) and is completing her Masters of Visual Art in Graphic Arts from M.S. University of Baroda.
Getting inspired by Sudhir Patwardhan and Naina Dalal, her artistic quest over the years has been molded by her instinct and immediate surroundings. She often described this quest through figures, as she seeks to establish a relationship of imperfection, distortion, and exaggeration, which might appear with her personal reflection but are also derived by the sense of establishing an order of chaos. Yatri’s painterly or spatial spaces (even in the context of prints) are often bold, personal, and reflective of her instinctive attempts derived from the study of Indian miniature paintings. Her works mainly go with the surrounding objects or spaces to which she is attached to. Her interest in making patterns with collage or with handmade papers is seen in her work, as she uses them extensively to communicate her thoughts.
