AK v/s Blackout presentations and discussion on How do creative communities work in diametrically-opposite worlds of India and Switzerland?

by Thomas Heimann, Bruno Steiner and Simon Wunderlich representing their own artistic practices and Ausstellungsraum Klingental, a city-funded exhibition space run by local artists in Basel, Switzerland & Shazeb Arif S. representing The Blackout Festival, an urban subculture experiment that started in Mumbai in 2012 and opened its first international edition in Basel in 2015

About the collaborationIn 2015, Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council granted Shazeb Arif S, a curator based in Mumbai, a five-month residency in Basel, Switzerland. During his residency he brought together artists from 6 continents for BlackoutBasel – a hybrid project involving an exhibition and a festival of live art at Ausstellungsraum Klingental. AK v/s Blackout is an extension of this project.
