Space118 presents ‘Navigating the Art Market: Easing into the Art World’, a webinar conducted by Priyanshi Saxena. The webinar primarily aims at young and upcoming artists/ curators/ writers and those who want to be arts professionals – to introduce them to the mechanisms and different players in the Indian art world.

The webinar on Wednesday, 2nd November, will focus on:

  • The broad structure of the art market
  • The main players in the art market, and their roles and responsibilities
  • Pricing and selling an artwork
  • Goals and gears of an art gallery
  • How to survive without an art gallery
  • The internet and the art market

Following the presentation, the room will open to a Q&A session with Priyanshi Saxena.

The webinar will take place on Zoom on the 2nd of November, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. It is free to attend with mandatory pre-registration.

More about Priyanshi Saxena

Priyanshi Saxena helms the art advisory PSArts, building and managing art collections, and consulting on the South Asian Art Market. She is the director of IAM, working at reviving, restructuring and connecting the regional art market, especially in regional languages in India.

She was one of the reviewers for the 2022 Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowship applications in the field of Arts and Culture Management; and a jury for the ArtBuzz Notable Artist Award 2022.  She is the Curatorial Director for the Amdavad Art – é – Summit  2022; and consulting with galleries like Pulp Society, Delhi.

She is one of the founders of, and part of the core team of  abr (on instagram at abr circle), a community and digital platform for  performance art in South Asia. She has also written extensively on contemporary art and art markets; contributing as a writer to several publications and two books: Art Residencies of India (Studio 118, Mumbai, 2021), and  SMART ARTIST (Artbuzz India, 2019).
