Manjari Goteti Indian, b. 2001

Overview

Manjari Goteti (they/them) (b. 2001, Hyderabad, Telangana, India) received their BFA, Jawaharlal Nehru Fine Arts and Architecture University, Hyderabad (2023) and is currently pursuing their MFA, Hamburg University of Fine Arts, Hamburg.

 

Their works have been exhibited at group exhibitions at Hyper Cultural Passengers, Hamburg (2025), Hamburg University of Fine Arts, Germany (2025); Possible Futures, Hyderabad, India (2024).

 

Manjari’s practice explores identity through the lens of family dynamics and cultural memory, to reflect on acceptance, rejection, and belonging. Their work merges personal narrative with new media installation, expanding the boundaries of storytelling in contemporary art.

 

Manjari lives and works in Hamburg, Germany.

Project Overview:

Through their project, Manjari diversified storytelling through art practices in an exploration of identity within family dynamics, cultural memory and social acceptance. Her practice involves her take on marriage within her culture, representing the project through video and installation.
